General Description – The building of affordable homes through Habitat for Humanity has been a major mission project of Faith United Methodist Church for many years. Working with other churches on the eastside in a coalition format we have helped to fund and build seven homes in the last eleven years. Our primary funding source is a community-wide “garage sale” held at the church each year in September. In addition, church members may attend Habitat fundraisers or purchase Habitat-related items through the alternative gifting program held each Christmas season as a part of Faith’s funding.
Volunteer Opportunities – The annual Habitat “garage sale” requires a large number of volunteers. During August and September every year, we will recruit and schedule volunteers in church and online. Find more information on our website at habitatgaragesale.org.
