Meet Our Pastor

Pastor_John_09Pastor John A. Brewer

Ordained a United Methodist Pastor in 1972, I have served local churches in Elma, Washington (2 years), Colville Washington (4 years), Spokane, Washington (12 years), Vancouver Washington (4 years) and now here in Issaquah, Washington.
In addition, I served four years as a United Methodist chaplain in the US Army and another 8 years as District Superintendent of the Pacific Northwest Conference of the United Methodist Church.  I have served on a wide variety of District and Conference Boards and Agencies through the years.
Educational work includes a BA degree in Business Management from Eastern Washington University (State College at that time), a Masters of Divinity Degree from Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, California and a Doctor of Ministry Degree from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Ky (while stationed at Ft. Knox as a chaplain.)
I am married with three children and their extended families.
Bicycling, walking, golfing are among the outdoor activities I enjoy.
On my current wish list:
  • Contributions to the "Good Samaritan Fund" which serves as a pastor's discretionary fund for special needs, including but not limited to scholarships, transportation, utilities, medical prescriptions, etc.
I've been here since 2006 when I was appointed as senior pastor. If you would like to contact me, I would love to hear from you.
